TROL ry:n liittokokous pidettiin 10.-11.11.2017 Pasilassa. Liittokokouksessa käytiin läpi muun muassa sääntömuutos, toimintakertomus sekä tilinpäätös vuodelta 2016, hallituksen selonteko kuluneelta vuodelta, toimintasuunnitelma ja talousarvio vuodelle 2018 sekä luonnollisesti uusi liittohallitus vuodelle 2018. Liittokokouksen puheenjohtajana toimi Jaakko Hyvönen, joka on muun muuassa toiminut liittohallituksen puheenjohtajana vuonna 2015.

Liittohallitus esitti koulutuspoliittisen ohjelman, julkilausuman sekä toimintasuunnitelman ja talousarvion vuodelle 2018 liittokokoukselle joita myöhemmin työstettiin valiokunnissa eteenpäin. Valiokuntatyöskentelyssä aiheina olivat järjestö (toimintasuunnitelma ja talousarvio, koulutuspolitiikka (koulutuspoliittinen ohjelma), julkilausuma sekä vaalivaliokunta (jossa puheenjohtajisto- ja hallitusehdokkaat vastasivat tiukkoihin kysymyksiin).

Ennen valiokuntatyöskentelyn aloitusta, ehdokkaat esittäytyivät ja joutuivat niinsanottuun grilliin. Puheenjohtajistoehdokkaat olivat ensimmäisenä, kaikki kolme ehdokasta vastasivat mallikkaasti liittokokouksen asettamiin kysymyksiin. Heidän jälkeensä vuorossa olivat hallitusehdokkaat. Hallitusehdokkaita oli yhteensä 11 kappaletta. Oli huikeaa nähdä niin monta hyvää hakijaa jatkamaan liittohallituksen työtä ensi vuodelle. Ehdokkaiden grillin jälkeen kokous laitettiin tauolle ja valiokuntatyöskentelyt alkoivat. Valiokuntatyöskentelyt jatkuivat illalliseen asti.

Siirryimme illalliselle Sokos Hotel Pasilaan. Loppuilta kului seurustelussa mahtavan aktiiviporukan kanssa.

Kokous jatkui seuraavana päivänä klo 9 vuoden 2018 toimintasuunnitelman esityksellä, jäsenmaksun päätöksellä, ja vuoden 2018 talousarvion esityksellä. Järjestövaliokunnan puheenjohtaja esitti valiokunnan muutokset toimintasuunnitelmaan ja talousarvioon. Jäsenmaksu päätettiin liittohallituksen esityksen mukaisesti. Tämän jälkeen jännitys alkoi tiivistyä kokoustilassa. Oli puheenjohtajavaalin aika.

Kolmesta ehdokkaasta täytyi yhden saada ehdoton enemmistö, jotta hänet voitaisiin valita ensimmäisen vaalin perusteella. Puheenjohtajistovaali joutui toiselle kierrokselle jonka jälkeen Jere Nieminen valittiin liittohallituksen puheenjohtajaksi vuodelle 2018.

Jere Nieminen on toiminut aktiivisesti Laurean Tradenomiopiskelijat LATO ry:ssä pääkaupunkiseudulla. Hänellä on myös kokemusta opiskelijakuntakentältä.

Kaikki puheenjohtajaehdokkaat ilmaisivat myös halukkuutensa varapuheenjohtajan paikkaan. Varapuheenjohtajavaali käytiin siis kahden ehdokkaan välillä ja uusi varapuheenjohtaja valittiin yhdellä vaalikierroksella. Varapuheenjohtajaksi vuodelle 2018 valittiin Kaisu Hilska.

Kaisu Hilska on toiminut aktiivisesti Haaga-Helian liiketalouden opiskelijat Talko ry:ssä pääkaupunkiseudulla. Kaudella 2017 hän on toiminut kyseisen yhdistyksen puheenjohtajana.

Viimeisimpänä, mutta ei kuitenkaan vähäisimpänä käytiin hallitusvaalit. Ehdokkaita oli 11 kpl ja hallituspaikkoja 6 (yksi näistä varajäsen). Vaali oli erittäin jännittävä ja ääntenlaskijoilla kesti aika kauan laskea kaikki äänet. Vaalituloksen odotuksessa jännitys tiivistyi. Vaalitulos oli erittäin tiukka, vain kymmenet äänet määrittivät ketkä ehdokkaista pääsi hallitukseen.

Uuden liittohallituksen toimikausi alkaa 1.1.2018.

Henkilövalintojen jälkeen koulutuspoliittisen valiokunnan puheenjohtajat esittivät valiokunnan muutokset koulutuspoliittiseen ohjelmaan sekä julkilausumavaliokunnan puheenjohtaja esitti muutokset julkilausumaan. Toiminnantarkastajat valittiin vuodelle 2018 ja sen jälkeen siirryttiin muihin asioihin. Tässä kohdassa liittokokouksella oli mahdollisuus esittää ponsiesityksiä uudelle liittohallitukselle, liittokokous äänesti ponsiesityksien toimeenpanosta. Muutamat hyväksytyt ponsiesitykset olivat: Liittohallitus 2018 on toimikaudellaan kirjoitettava kaksi blogitekstiä ruotsiksi haluamistaan aiheista, liittohallitus 2018 osallistuu toimikaudellaan kahteen hyväntekeväisyyskampanjaan ja että liittohallitus 2018 tulee käyttämään videoita hyväksi viestinnässään.

Liittokokous oli pitkä ja antoisa. Allekirjoittaneellakin nousi haikeuden tunteet pintaan. On aivan mahtavaa että tämänlainen jengi vaikuttaa liittotasolla ensi vuonna! Onnittelut vielä kaikille valituille ja tsemppiä ensi vuoteen!

The general assembly of the National Union of BBA Students was held in Pasila between 10. and 11.11.2017 The general assembly’s subjects were, among other things, the changes to the rules, the annual report and the financial statements of 2016, the Board's report on the current year, the action plan and budget for 2018, and of course the new board for TROL for the year 2018. The general assembly was chaired by Jaakko Hyvönen, who for instance has served as Chairman of the Board of TROL in 2015.

The board presented an education policy program, report of the current year and an action plan and a budget for the year of 2018 general assembly, which were later worked on different committees. The committee's subjects were the organization (action plan and budget, education policy (education policy program), official statement and the election committee (where the presidency and government candidates responded to difficult questions).

Before starting the committee work, the candidates presented themselves and participated in the so-called “grill”. The chairperson candidates were the first ones to attend. All three candidates responded positively to the questions put by the general assembly. Following them, the candidates for board members were in the “grill”. There were altogether 11 candidates for the members of the board. It was great to see so many good candidates to continue the board's work for next year. After the candidates' grilling, the meeting was put to a brake and committee work started. The committee work continued until dinner.

We transitioned to Sokos Hotel Pasila for dinner. The end of the evening was spent socializing with the great actives who participated to the general assembly.

The meeting continued on the following day at 9 o'clock with the presentation of the 2018 action plan, the membership fee decision and the 2018 budget proposal. The chairman of the organization committee presented the committee's amendments to the action plan and the budget. The membership fee was decided according to the board’s proposal. Then the tension began to condense in the meeting room. It was the time for the chairperson’s elections.
One of the three candidates needed to get an absolute majority in order to be elected on the basis of the first election. The chairperson election went to the second election round after which Jere Nieminen was elected as the chairperson of the board of TROL of the year 2018.

Jere Nieminen has been active in Laurea's BBA student association LATO ry in the Helsinki metropolitan area. He also has experience in the general student union field.

All the chairperson candidates also expressed their willingness to be the vice-chairperson. The election was therefore held between two candidates and the new vice chairperson was elected the first election round. Kaisu Hilska was elected as a vice-chairperson for the board of TROL of the year 2018.

Kaisu Hilska has been active in Haaga-Helia's BBA student union Talko ry in the Helsinki metropolitan area and has been as a chairperson of the particular association’s board of 2017.

The last, but not least, the board election was held. There were 11 candidates and 6 seats (one of these is a deputy member). The election was very exciting and the tellers took a long time to count all the votes. In the election result, the tension tightened. The election result was very tight, only tens of votes determined who the candidates were elected for the board.

The term of the board of 2018 begins on 1.1.2018.

Following the elections, the chairpersons of the committee of education policy presented the committee's amendments to the education policy program, and the chairperson of the official statement committee made amendments to the official statement. Functional inspectors were selected for 2018 and then the assembly moved to other issues. At this point, the general assembly had the opportunity to present motion proposals to the new board. The general assembly voted on the implementation of the motion proposals Some of the approved motion proposals were: The board of 2018 will write two blog texts in Swedish for the topics they decide, the board of 2018 will participate in two charitable campaigns during their term and the board of 2018 will use video material in their communications.

The general assembly was long and rewarding. For me, the feelings of nostalgia came to the surface. It is quite amazing that this kind of gang will affect federal level next year! Congratulations to all those who have been selected to the board of TROL for the term of 2018!
