After you have contacted us, our employment lawyer will review the materials related to the matter and request further clarification, if necessary. If necessary, further clarification will also be requested from the employer. However, the union’s lawyers will never contact the employer without a separate agreement with the member. When the background information is sufficient, we will provide you with a legal assessment of whether the employer has violated the Employment Contracts Act, for example.
Most legal matters are resolved through advice and negotiations through the union’s employment counselling service. As a last resort, the case can be taken to court. In that case, we will offer our members a unique legal protection benefit.
