When your BBA friend joins and mentions you as the person who recommended they join, you get a referral reward. The best part is that with each recommendation your reward value increases.

When the new member has paid their first membership fee you will receive an email. From the link in the email you can choose your preferred referral reward.
If you chose the membership fee reward, i.e., a discount on your future membership fees, here is more information on how it works. The more friends you get to join and list you as their referrer, the more valuable the reward you will receive.
The reward model for full members is tiered. You get a good starting bonus for your first referral, and going forward, each new member elevates you to the next reward level.
For referring a student membership, you receive a 20€ reward for a Gold or Black level member.

The referral campaign rewards existing members with escalating reward tiers—offering choices between discounts on future union membership fees and digital gift cards such as the SuperGiftCard. When referring five full members in a calendar year, total rewards reach €396, which offsets an entire year's full membership fee. In addition, members can gift a graduating BBA a 6-month membership to support their transition into working life.
How much can members earn through Tradenomit's referral reward tiers?
Referral rewards for Full, Family, and Entrepreneur members follow a tiered system: €33 for the 1st referral, €50 for the 2nd (total €83), €75 for the 3rd (total €158), €100 for the 4th (total €258), and €138 for the 5th (total €396). Referring five full members within a calendar year provides €396, covering an entire year's membership fee. Referring a Gold or Black level student member earns a flat €20 reward.
What reward options can members choose from when referring a new member?
Referrers can select either a discount on their future membership fees or a SuperGiftCard redeemable at hundreds of physical and online stores, such as Power, Iittala, H&M, and Zalando. If the membership fee discount exceeds the remaining fees for the current calendar year, the remaining balance automatically rolls over to the following year.
How does a new member report who referred them to Tradenomit?
The new member must provide the referrer's name and contact information (phone number, member number, or email) in the designated referral field on the joining form when registering. Referrers cannot be added retroactively once the membership has commenced.
Are referral rewards subject to taxation?
Yes. According to Tax Administration guidelines, gift card rewards and fee discounts are considered taxable income. Tradenomit is legally required to report all delivered rewards to the Finnish Incomes Register, and recipients are personally responsible for any related tax implications.
The campaign is open to Tradenomit members, including elected officials, but union staff receiving wage income from the union are ineligible.
The referrer must be a member of Tradenomit. Union staff (those receiving wage income from the union) are not eligible for rewards. Elected officials (e.g., members of the council, board, and committees) are eligible for rewards.
