Becoming a member of the Professionals of Business and Technology is an investment in yourself

Members are responsible for keeping their contact information and other membership information up to date and ensuring that their membership type is correct. Student membership must be changed to full membership after graduation at the latest. The necessity of changing the membership type should be investigated when becoming an entrepreneur, moving abroad or retiring.

You can select the payment method and billing cycle for membership fees in the membership application when joining. You can change the payment method through our online service or by notifying our member service.

Billing cycle

You can choose to be invoiced monthly, every three months or once a year. The invoicing months for the invoicing cycle of every three months are February, May, August and November. For the invoicing cycle of once a year, invoicing takes place in February. The due date of invoices is the 25th day of the invoicing month or the following business day.

If the membership starts in the middle of the year, the first invoice will be sent no later than during the month following the joining, after which invoicing will continue in the normal rhythm.

Payment method options

Pay the membership fee conveniently and free of charge with an e-invoice or MobilePay. If you want a paper invoice, we will add an invoicing surcharge of EUR 2.90.

E-invoice

There are two ways to order an e-invoice

1. You can easily order an e-invoice in our member service.

Click on “Update payment method or billing cycle” in the service, and select e-invoice as your payment method.
Within a couple of days, you will receive a new e-invoice agreement for approval in your online bank.
Once you have approved the agreement, the information about the new payment method is transferred from the bank to us and we will send the membership fee invoices as e-invoices in the future. PLEASE NOTE! If you have just joined as a member, you will receive the e-invoice proposal on the same day that the membership fee invoicing period starts.

2. If you wish, you can also order an e-invoice directly in your online bank. In the online bank, select the Professionals of Business and Technology as the invoicer and use your membership number as the identification code.

You can find your membership number in the online service, on your membership card, on the back cover of Tradenomi magazine, on your membership fee invoice, or in our electronic newsletters.
Information about the e-invoice agreement will be automatically transferred from the bank to us within a few business days.
You can also set payment to be automatic in your online bank. This means that e-invoices do not always need to be approved separately when they arrive, but the invoices are automatically charged from your account on the due date. No invoicing surcharge will be added to the e-invoice.

MobilePay

1. Download the MobilePay app on your mobile phone from the app store

2. Change the payment method to MobilePay in the Professionals of Business and Technology’s member service

You can change the payment method in the member service under “update payment method or billing cycle” or by notifying our member service.
No invoicing surcharge will be added to the MobilePay invoice.

Paper invoice

If the payment method is paper or e-mail invoicing, an invoicing surcharge of EUR 2.90 per invoice will be added. Alternatively, you can also receive an attachment containing the invoice information that is similar to a paper invoice by e-mail. This payment method is only recommended for members living abroad if it is not possible for them to receive an e-invoice.

Please note the following about membership fees

The right to use the member benefits and services is valid when the membership fees are up to date.
A longer than normal payment period for the invoice must be agreed separately with the member service. The member has the right to use the member benefits and services during a longer payment period, provided that the agreed payment plan has been followed.

You will receive membership fee discounts during layoffs, unemployment and other unpaid periods, for example. We grant a membership fee discount of 50% to all full members who are without salary income for at least one month.

By terminating your membership, you lose, among other things, the right to unemployment security, legal protection, insurance obtained through the union, bank benefits, personal legal advice and career counselling, and other valuable member benefits. Terminating your membership affects your rights in working life.

Termination of membership

• The membership includes coverage for leisure-time travel accidents and accidental injuries.
• The insurance covers full members of the Professionals of Business and Technology and gold/black level student members.
• The insurance covers members of the union who are under the age of 68, who live permanently in Finland for more than six months per calendar year, whose permanent residence is in Finland and who are covered by the Finnish Health Insurance Act.
• The insurance coverage is tied to your union membership. If you resign or are expelled from the union, the insurance coverage ends immediately. When you retire or turn 68, the insurance coverage ends at the end of the current year.

The Legal Protection Benefit included in the membership has been adapted to the dispute situations in working life and applies to Full Members, Family Members and Black level members. In order to be able to invoke the benefit, the member is required to have been a member of the union for six months by the time the dispute concerning an employment relationship arises. If the member’s Full Membership, Family Membership or Black level membership at the time the dispute arises has lasted for less than two years, the circumstances on which the dispute or claim is based must also have arisen during the validity period of the Legal Protection Benefit.
