Who decides what kind of services and benefits the Professionals of Business and Technology offers? Who decides the membership fee? Who decides what issues are pursued on behalf of the members? Well, the assembly of delegates decides on all of these.
The three-year term of our assembly of delegates will end at the end of 2026. The new assembly of delegates will be elected in the elections of autumn 2026, and its term will begin on 1 January 2027. The assembly of delegates will elect a chairperson and a vice chairperson from among themselves and a new Board of Directors for the union at its organisational meeting in early 2027.
1 September the election board prepares an electoral register of members entitled to vote
2–9 September the electoral register is available at the union’s office
9 September at 9 a.m. the nomination of candidates for the elections (incl. the establishment of voters’ associations) begins
16 September complaints regarding the electoral register must be submitted by this date
17 September the election board approves the electoral register
18 September voting instructions for members
23 September the establishment of voters’ associations and rings ends
28 September at 11.59 p.m. the nomination of candidates ends
30 September candidate numbers are drawn
6 October at 4 p.m. candidates must submit their information for the candidate selection engine and the Tradenomi magazine by this time
12 November 2026 at 9 a.m. – 25 November 2026 at 11.59 p.m. the voting period
After the voting period ends on 26 November, the election board confirms the election result, after which the result is published.

The Professionals of Business and Technology are preparing for their assembly of delegates elections in autumn 2026. Who is eligible to run as a candidate and vote in the assembly of delegates elections for full members?
Members who joined by 31 August 2026 and have paid membership fees for the previous calendar years are eligible to run as a candidate and vote in the assembly of delegates elections. Each eligible member has one vote.
How many representatives are elected for full members and student members?
In the elections of full members, 30 representatives (and deputy representatives) are elected to the assembly of delegates, while in the elections of student representatives, five representatives (and deputy representatives) are elected.
What are the benefits of working as a delegate?
As a delegate, you can learn about operations, working life, negotiation activities, and issues related to universities of applied sciences. You can influence policies, goals, services, and membership fees, elect the union’s board of directors, form new networks, and gain experience in union activities.
