The Black level is an all-inclusive membership. It is worth switching to the Black level as soon as you start paid training or work, as it accumulates the employment condition for the unemployment fund. To accumulate the right to earnings-related unemployment allowance in case of unemployment, you need 12 months of employment. As a Black level member, you can also accumulate this through part-time or summer jobs, either in full or half months.
Due to the membership requirements of the unemployment fund, joining as a Black level member requires a valid employment relationship. You cannot join the fund during unpaid work experience.

What student membership levels are available and what do they cost?
Professionals of Business and Technology provides three student tiers: Silver (free of charge for 18 months), Gold (€24 per year), and Black (€87 per year). Members can also receive their student membership fees refunded via a Cashback benefit when they continue as full members after graduation.
What are the eligibility requirements for the Black student membership level?
To join the Black membership tier, you must have an active, valid employment relationship (such as a part-time job or paid internship) in accordance with the unemployment fund's statutory rules. You cannot join the fund during unpaid work experience.
How is the unemployment fund employment condition accrued through student work?
The employment condition is accrued based on monthly gross earnings paid. A full month accrues when you earn at least €930 in a calendar month, while a half month accrues if you are paid between €465 and €929. The employment condition does not need to be accumulated in consecutive months.
How long is the free Silver student membership valid?
The Silver level membership is completely free of charge and its benefits remain valid for 18 months starting from the date you register.
How do I switch or upgrade my membership level?
You can upgrade or switch your membership tier at any time through the union's online service. When you begin paid work or an internship, switching to Black level allows you to begin accumulating unemployment security immediately.
