As a personnel representative, you get to

  • develop the operations and working life in your workplace
  • promote and maintain cooperation between the employer and the employees
  • communicate information between the employer and the employees you represent
  • advise others about and monitor compliance with the application of the collective agreement and labour law
  • participate in local bargaining

The personnel representative has legal protection

The position of the personnel representative is based on the shop steward provisions of the collective agreement or the labour law’s regulations on the employee representative and the occupational safety representative. Under these laws and agreements, they are, among other things, protected against unjustified dismissal.

The personnel representative is

An expert in collective agreements and the law

Helps and advises their colleagues on employment matters.

A collector and intermediary of information

Acts as an important link between the employer and the employees, as well as between the union and who they represent.

 

A negotiator

More and more matters are dealt with and decided on locally in the work community.

A developer of operations

Promotes the well-being and working conditions of their work community.
