Tradenomiopiskelijoiden puheenjohtajan vapputervehdys 2026

Vuosi on jälleen edennyt siihen pisteeseen, että kevät tekee kovasti tuloaan, linnut
laulavat ja kadut täyttyvät värikkäistä haalareista, kun kaikkien alojen opiskelijat
kerääntyvät yhteiseen juhlaan. Joissain kaupungeissa vappua on juhlittu
antaumuksella jo useita viikkoja, ja nyt loppu häämöttää – Vappu on vihdoin täällä!
Tämän juhlan takana häämöttävään kesään liittyy varmasti paljon epävarmuutta
monille. Opiskelijoiden siirto takaisin opintotuen asumislisälle tarkoittaa sitä, ettei
kesäkuukausille ole asumistukea tarjolla, ellet sitten nosta opintotukia kesällä.
Muidenkin tukivaihtoehtojen osalta tilanne näyttää vallan heikolta, sillä viimeaikaisten
otsikoiden mukaan toimeentulotukihakemukset johtavat ainoastaan kehotuksiin
lopettaa opinnot ja ilmoittautua työttömäksi työnhakijaksi.
Työnhakijankaan elämä ei tällä hetkellä ole mitään herkkua. Suomen
työttömyyslukemat hiovat Euroopan korkeimpia ja työpaikkoja on aiempaa
vähemmän. Näistäkin suuri osa on piilotyöpaikkoja, mikä takaa vahvan
etulyöntiaseman heille, joilla on oikeat, olemassaolevat verkostot. Ei tarvitse olla
nero ymmärtääkseen, ettei tähän yhtälöön ole ratkaisua, joka mahdollistaisi kaikille
halukkaille töitä. Eikä varsinkaan sellaisia töitä, jotka vastaavat omaa koulutusta.
Surkeista tilastoista ja uutisotsikoista huolimatta meissä opiskelijoissa on
tulevaisuus, ja tässä hetkessä on tärkeää keskittyä myös hyviin asioihin.
Opiskeluvuodet ovat monelle elämän parasta aikaa. Vaikka kaikille koulunkäynti ei
merkitse uusia sydänystäviä ja railakasta juhlimista, opiskelijayhteisöön jokainen on
tervetullut omana itsenään. Vappuna tämä yhteisöllisyys on huipussaan ja siksi
toivonkin, ettei kukaan joudu tahtomattaan viettämään tätä juhlaa yksin.
Yhteenvetona, vaikka joskus varmasti stressaa, muista pysähtyä ja nauttia elämän
pienistä ja suurista iloista. Tänään voit huoletta nauraa kavereiden kanssa, puhallella
saippuakuplia ja kulkea lakki päässä – ylpeästi tradenomina!

May Day greetings of the Chairperson of Students of Business and
Technology 2026
The year has once again reached the point where spring is coming, birds are singing
and the streets are filled with the colors of overalls as students from all fields gather
for a joint celebration. In some cities, May Day has been celebrated with devotion for
several weeks already, and now the end is in sight – May Day is finally here!
The summer after this celebration certainly comes with a lot of uncertainty for many.
The transfer of students back to the housing supplement of the student financial aid
means that there will be no housing support available for the summer months, unless
you withdraw your student financial aid in the summer. The situation regarding other
support options also seems fairly weak, as according to recent headlines,
applications for social assistance only lead to demands to quit your studies and
register as an unemployed job seeker.
Life for job seekers is not easy at the moment either. Finland’s unemployment rates
are among the highest in Europe and there are fewer jobs than before. A large part
of these are hidden jobs as well, which guarantees a strong advantage for those with
the right existing networks. You don’t have to be a genius to understand that there is
no solution to this equation that would allow for everyone to get a job. Especially not
a job that matches your education.
Despite the sordid statistics and news headlines, we students are the future, and at
this moment it is important to focus on the good things. For many, the student years
are the best time of their lives. Although going to school does not mean new best
friends and wild parties for everyone, the student community welcomes everyone as
they are. This sense of community is at its peak during May Day, and that is why I
hope that no one will involuntarily have to spend this holiday alone.
In summary, although life can certainly be stressful at times, remember to stop and
enjoy the small and big things in life. Today you can laugh with friends, blow some
soap bubbles and walk around with your cap on – proudly as a Bachelor of Business
Administration!
